Job Description:

Working in the QGC Upstream Projects team, the role covers translation of business needs into project technical scopes and execution strategies prior to progressing scopes of work into site-based execution and close-out activities. 

Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Project development tracking pre-define, including providing input into estimates, design and constructability where applicable.
  • Coordination of required Shell deliverables to support project requirements through each decision gate.
  • Development of scoping and pricing request documentation for new scopes to engineering and construction as applicable.
  • Engage and manage engineering contractor to generate engineering design deliverables, Scopes of Work, and Construction work packs.
  • Manage Project Scheduling and report periodically on overall Project performance. Monthly phasing review of Cost forecasts with cost engineers. 
  • Project stakeholder management including operations, engineering, procurement, construction, asset, land access, well engineering, maintenance to ensure project success.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to capture then deliver value.
  • Manage scope change and facilitate approvals for all required operational change requests associated with scopes.

Job Requirements:

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, ideally Mechanical or Process Discipline.
  • Substantial industry experience with at least 5 years project engineering experience, site-based experience highly desirable. 
  • Unconventional Oil and Gas, CSG industry, particularly with wellsites / for High Density Polythene Pipe (HDPE) Gathering networks. Ideally, previous experience working in or very close to an operations and maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in brownfield replicable scope development and execution management.
  • Understanding of Shell Design Assurance Framework requirements or equivalent from other operators is highly desirable. 
  • Strong understanding of construction process and requirements, contracts, procurement process and supporting requirements.
  • Managing engineering consultants in the delivery of key documents for design and construction.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Maximo and Management of Change (MoC).
  • Knowledge of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA) Code of Practice for HDPE Gathering Networks.
